פרופ' חיים טל מכהן כפרופסור מן המניין וראש המחלקה לפריודונטיה והשתלות דנטליות באוניברסיטת תל אביב. פרופ' טל הינו ראש הקתדרה להשתלות ע"ש ד"ר ניזניק, בפקולטה לרפואה, וכיהן בעבר כראש ביה"ס לרפואת שיניים משך עשור שנים ( 1990-1996 ; 2006-2010 ). פרופ' טל הינו בוגר הפקולטה לרפואת שיניים (1977) באוניברסיטה העברית והדסה ירושלים, סיים התמחותו בפריודונטיה וברפואת הפה ((1981) באוניברסיטת וויטס' – יוהנסבורג (1981) שם גם השלים לימודיו לתארים MDENT ו PHD באנתרופולוגיה פיסיקלית. ב 1984 זכה בתואר עמית כבוד של האקדמיה האמריקאית לרפואת הפה. טל נושא בתארים: ד"ר לשם כבוד מטעם אוניברסיטת בוקרסט, רומניה, מדען אורח באוניברסיטת ניו –יורק, ופרופ' אורח באוניברסיטת טורונטו ואוניברסיטת פנסילבניה. פרופ' טל נמנה על מפתחי ממברנת אוסיקס – ממברנת קולגן לצימוח גרמי, ושימש מדען קליני ראשי בחברת טקטייל טכנולוגיות - מפתחת מערכות להחדרת שתלים ממוחשבת בלסת. פרופ' טל פרסם למעלה מ 150 מאמרים מדעיים בספרות המקצועית הבינלאומית והרצה ברחבי העולם בנושאי התמחותו ובעיקר כירורגיה פריודונטלית, השתלות עצם ושתלים דנטליים. בשנת 2012 פרסם טל את הספר "רגנרציה גרמית" Bone Regeneration שהפך בתוך שנתיים לרב מכר. פרופ' טל מחזיק במומחיות מטעם משרד הבריאות בישראל, מטעם מדינת ניו יורק, ומטעם משרד הבריאות של דרום אפריקה.
Prof. Haim Tal
Professor Haim Tal is a full professor of Periodontology, and Head of the Department of Periodontology and Oral Implants at Tel Aviv University School of Dental Medicine. Prof. Tal holds the position of Incumbent of the Gerald Niznick Chair of Implant Dentistry. Tal is a former Dean of the TAU School of Dental Medicine (1991 – 1996; 2006-2010). Prof. Tal graduated from the The Hebrew University and Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem (DMD 1977). He took specialty training in Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand , Johannesburg (1979-81), where he also received the degrees M.Dent. and PhD. in Physical Anthropology (1984). Tal is the recipient of the 1984 honorary fellowship of the American Academy of Oral Medicine and the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa was conferred on him by the University of Bucharest. Prof Tal is a visiting Professor at NYU, Toronto University and the University of Pennsylvania. Prof. Tal is a co-developer of Ossix - a leading cross-linked collagen membrane for guided bone regeneration, manufactured by ColBar Life Sciences Israel. He served as co-founder and chief clinical scientist of Tactile Technologies Israel, developers of computerized guided Implantology systems. Tal published over 150 scientific articles and lectured world-wide in the fields of Periodontal Wound Healing, bone regeneration, Implant Surgery and Implant Navigation. His book Bone Regeneration was published in 2012, and soon became a best seller, with not less than 49,000 download. Prof . Tal is licensed to pratice periodontics in Israel, in New York State, and in South Africa.
